A tribute to the Nicaraguan cigars of the 1970's, Antaño in Spanish means "yesteryear". This cigar is full-bodied and complex.

Pre-Smoke
This cigar boasts a fabulous medium dark brown wrapper with a spicy aroma. This is one well-packed stick, firm with no soft spots.

A clean clip produced a firm cold draw, but no real flavor except that of aged tobacco.

Burn

Slightly difficult to get a nice burn on the foot, but after it gets going, it is perfect. The Antaño's ash is light gray and a bit flaky, but it holds firm to the cigar. No touchups were necessary to keep this beauty going.

The Flavor
From the initial draw this cigar is smooth, with instant creamy, thick cocoa flavors. The first third produces flavor hits of all kinds, chocolate, vanilla, spice and an earthy background. Very interesting and tasty.

As the Antaño progresses, it maintains that creamy cocoa base flavor and adds some coffee and cinnamon to the profile.

The cigar maintains this flavor range through to the end and does get fuller as it progresses. Smoke this one after a good meal because it gets pretty strong, and there is a fair amount of nicotine buzz.
