Deep fruit flavors pervade as if over-ripe raspberries have been blended with figs. Honey & bourbon notes come and go with a certain maltiness in the background along with distinct notes of oak.

One of six in a 2008 release by Bruichladdich of "First Growth" inspired whiskies, Cuvee D is matured in Bourbon barrels with "Additional Cask Evolution (ACE)" in Chateaux Haut-Brion barriques. These luxury Bordeauxs are a mix of predominately Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines, lending a superb aroma and elegance to this scotch.

SUGGESTED CHOCOLATE PAIRING
The complex flavors of this dram make it supremely easy to match to the Chuao bonbons. Framboise hits the berry fruit flavors dead on and introduces a wonderful new texture to the pairing with its raspberry fruite de pate. Miel's notes of honey nuttiness seem to bring out the otherwise understated maltiness of this whisky. Melao with its butter salt caramel, plays off the clear bourbon influence of this scotch. We'll leave the decision to you. (click on name above to purchase)
SUGGESTED CIGAR PAIRING
An elegant malt for an elegant cigar. The La Aurora is a medium strength, complex cigar. What's really noticeable about this combination is the creamy honey/molasses flavors in both malt and leaf.
