Spiced rum, glazed ripe bananas, juniper berries, faint coastal aroma, & honeyed almonds.
Body:
Medium, very smooth and with more power than its low ABV would imply.
Palate:
Spiced rum over stewed autumn fruits and raisins, drizzled with honey & accented by a bit of vanilla. This gives way to a delicious spiciness and an elusive saltiness. The coastal and peat influences are present but well integrated.

Finish:
Long. Fruit and honey notes turn dry and spicy with distinguishable aniseed at the tail and luxurious tannins which hang on the tongue.

Four years of extra maturation have been added to Oban's core expression to produce this wonderfully rich and smooth spirit. While these notes refer to the original limited edition available today, Diageo expects to release a quantity of additional 18 year old annually.
Oban is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland, operating only two stills, six days a week. Founded in 1974 it is also one of the oldest in origin.

SUGGESTED CHOCOLATE PAIRING
Miel brings out an unexpected peaty nuttiness in Oban that would otherwise have remained hidden. With its honeyed almond hazelnut praline filling, it is an unexpected but tasty playmate for this dram.
